The Musaeum Francisci Calceolarii was pubished in 1622; it was the the most ambitious and complex book printed in Verona in the first thirty years of the seventeenth century. It records the objects held in the Wunderkammer of Francesco Calzolari (1522-1609), contained 800 folio pages, and forty-five engravings. This volume is based upon an account book of Francisco Calzolari junior, which is here reproduced for the first time with a transcript and glossary, demonstrating the costs and challenges of producing such an ambitious work in the seventeenth-century provincial printing industry.
